Pinterest has just announced that Pinterest users can now search for their own pins with key words!!!!
For users, this makes it easier to rediscover stuff they have pinned.
Here’s how it works: When you type a word into the search bar — like San Francisco, beaches or BBQ — you can filter results by clicking “Just my pins”. Pinterest will show you everything you’ve pinned with that keyword in the pin description. Therefore, as an user, be sure to add words in your descriptions that will help you find that pin again. Currently, only the web version has included this new feature but this should also be available on the mobile versions soon!!!
So how would this affect businesses on Pinterest and
as a whole?? Very simple, it is now even important to pick good, relevant keywords for the description of your pins!! We can see the term "PSEO" (Pinterest's Search Engine Optimization) getting more popular in the near future!! ;)
Have fun everyone!!!
